The EU Delegation in Tunisia has launched a call for proposals to support civil society in the promotion of democratic reforms and respect for human rights in Tunisia. The deadline for submission of proposals is 27 March 2017.

Specifically, the aims of the call are:

  • The defence and the promotion of the rights of children, in particular protection and prevention against mistreatment, violence and child labour.
  • The prevention and fight against all forms of discrimination, in particular racial discrimination and all inequality of treatment based on mental or physical handicap, nationality or sexual orientation.
  • The promotion of a democratic culture of dialogue and consultation between the different stakeholders at national and local level, in particular through the monitoring, observation and promotion of a reliable and transparent electoral process.

Total funding for the call is 2 million euros. An information session on the call will be held on 21 February at the EU Delegation in Tunis.

The call is funded under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR).
