On the 14th December, results from the MED TEST II project will present saving impacts from 26 Tunisian companies in the headquarters of UTICA, Tunis. Together with the Minister of Industry and SMEs, the delegation of the European Union to Tunisia, and national partners, UNIDO will present how these promising results could be used nationwide to share the TEST methodology in other companies and sectors.

Since 2015, the UNIDO led MED TEST II project has contributed to the overall objective of SwitchMed in demonstrating the many benefits of a resource efficient and cleaner production in Tunisia.

The project will conclude in a national dissemination event, which will be organized by UNIDO together with the national partners of MED TEST II. This will be an excellent occasion for Tunisian industries to learn what investments in resource efficiency can achieve, not only for the business but also for the environment.

The 26 businesses, participating in the EU funded SwitchMed MED TEST II project, will present their achievements in water, energy, and raw material savings, which will be followed by a session dedicated to the future strategy for resource efficiency and cleaner production in Tunisia.

The SwitchMed sustainable consumption and production programme aims to promote a switch by the Mediterranean economies towards sustainable consumption and production patterns and green economy, including low-emission development, through demonstration and dissemination of methods that improve resource and energy efficiency. It also seeks to minimise the environmental impacts associated with the life cycle of products and services and, where possible, to promote renewable energy.
