On November 27-29, 2017 the OPEN Media Hub is organising an advanced production training for journalists working for online media in Beirut, Lebanon.

The training will be practically orientated and will focus on the best practice of producing attractive content and multi-platform reporting, and social media integration. Thematically the workshop is focused on covering the relations of Lebanon with the EU, and participants will be expected to develop stories on this issue ready to be published by their media in Lebanon and shared internationally via the project’s Content Sharing Platform.

International media expert Wissam Sayegh will lead this production workshop helping participants develop advanced skills in areas such as:

  • Writing across platforms;
  • Video for online and mobile;
  • Data visualisation;
  • Digital journalism tools;
  • Social media integration;

The workshop is open for all journalists from Lebanon working for online media or for the online platforms of print and broadcast media. Participation is free of charge; the OPEN Media Hub will cover travel and accommodation of participants coming from outside Beirut.

The OPEN Media Hub project, funded under the OPEN Neighbourhood Programme, aims at creating a virtual media hub spanning the EU’s two neighbourhood regions – south and east – in order to contribute to the development of independent media and to a more accurate presentation of EU policies, through the creation of a network of journalists. It provides skills to journalists and media managers through the fostering of professional networks, the provision of hands-on workshops, of journalist exchanges and support to audio-visual and online production.
