EU funding has helped to replace 650 metres of heating pipelines in the Ukrainian town of Zhovkva. The pipelines, which connect the town’s communal boiler house to five residential buildings and the local “Kalynka” kindergarten, have been replaced with new, insulated pipes.
The works have been carried out within the framework of the EU-funded Covenant of Mayors project “Realisation of the first stage of modernisation of the municipal boiler house and the district being heated by it”.
During the past three months, a number of tests of the new heating network have been conducted. Under the supervision of the technical experts of the EU’s “Covenant of Mayors - Demonstration Projects” (CoM-DeP) Support Team, the network was inspected as pilot tests of the heating network with air and water pressure were carried out and the condition of the stop valves was verified.
The new heating network is now in place and ready for full-scale use.
