The European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) delegation met with police chiefs from Western Georgia on 10 February to discuss functional cooperation, operational issues, plans and structural changes. They also discussed the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ commitment to its Technical Agreement with the EUMM.
The Head of EUMM Georgia presented the structure and mandate of the EUMM, with special emphasis on the Mission’s work on the Technical Agreement between the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the EUMM. This agreement grants the Mission access to relevant information and Georgian police facilities.
The Mission staff also explained how on-site compliance monitoring of Police facilities is practiced and how mutual cooperation advances implementation.
